- Phone the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to speak with your representative in Congress, urging him or her to co-sponsor and actively support passage of H.R. 808, the bill in the House of Representatives of the 110th Congress to establish a U.S. Department of Peace. Also, ask to speak with your senators, urging them to introduce and support a companion bill in the Senate. - Write letters to newspapers about the benefits of a Department of Peace for preventing conflict at the level of root cause, and ask local newspapers to publish editorials and op-ed pieces about it. - Nominate local, national, or international organizations you know of that are working for a culture of peace for entry in the Peace Registry database at www.PeaceRegistry.org.
